Learn how to decorate sandals using a unique technique that is REALLY easy! Take a simple pair of shoes from boring to fabulous.

Skills Required: None. Even if you’ve never crafted before, you’ll be able to decorate your sandals. You’ll be using hot glue in a silicone mold – it’s very easy.

how to decorate sandals at home

There’s nothing like a cute pair of sandals to complete a summer outfit, but let’s be honest – affordable shoes can sometimes be a little… uninspired. If you’ve ever picked up a pair and thought, These could be cuter, then you’re in the right place!

Today, we’re taking plain sandals from “meh” to “oh wow!” with an easy embellishment technique using hot glue and silicone molds. Yes, you heard that right . . . hot glue!

This project is a total game-changer because it lets you customize your shoes without spending a fortune. Whether you love bold and colorful accents or prefer something sleek and metallic, you can completely tailor the look to your style.

DIY embellished sandals

There are other options as well. Imagine customized footwear for your bestie’s birthday, a unique bridesmaid gift, or even a fun summer camp project with the kids (with a little adult supervision for the hot glue, of course).

And let’s not forget: they’ll make a perfect addition to your own warm-weather wardrobe.

So if you’re ready to give your sandals a glow-up, grab your glue gun and let’s get crafting.

Once you see how easy this is, you’ll be looking around for other things to embellish – I won’t judge! Get the printable how to below:

Ingredients

Instructions

  • Select your silicone mold and pattern. Fill the mold with hot glue. Spread the glue into the mold using the tip.
Hot glue gun and a silicon mold
  • Wait for it to cool and harden, about 5 minutes. Pop it out of the mold and trim with scissors, if needed.
Silicone mold with the hot glue popped out
  • Paint the embellishment with either acrylic paint or spray paint. Let dry. If you used acrylic paint, spray on a clear acrylic sealer.
    Spray painted hot glue embellishments
  • Attach the embellishment to a sandal with a line of hot glue on the back. Repeat for a second embellishment.
Attaching the gold embellishment to the front of the sandal

Notes

Step 1: I use a heat gun to help spread the melted glue onto the mold.
This will still produce some bubbles on your finished product, but it will be more even than if you skip using the heat gun to help keep the glue warm for even coverage.
Step 3: I used spray paint in metallic gold to compliment my sandal color.
You will want to spray your piece in short bursts and start on the back of the piece before spraying the front. Let it dry.

Don’t forget to follow my blog and social media for more projects like this – happy crafting, friends! I’d love to know if you’ve ever decoupaged shoes. Leave me a comment! Now that you know how to embellish sandals, why don’t you try these other projects?

These DIY glitter shoes are really easy to make with Mod Podge! Turn your favorite pair into sparkly stunners in a few simple steps.

Skills Required: None. Even if you have never crafted before, you can decorate these shoes easily. You’ll be mixing Mod Podge and glitter and applying it to your kicks. Don’t forget to read my best tips!

DIY-glitter-shoes-in-a-few-easy-steps

Glitter is a funny thing . . . if you met me in real life, you wouldn’t necessarily consider me a glitter person. I have a flannel collection and I like overalls. I don’t wear makeup or paint my nails.

I guess I think of glitter as girly? Not that there’s anything wrong with girly, I just don’t typically go for it.

But the truth is, glitter is for everyone! Hear me out for a moment. Everyone deserves a pair of sparkly shoes, especially in these trying times. And the great thing about glitter is that it comes in a variety of colors.

If you aren’t feeling pink or gold you can go blue or black. Do you want to use chunky glitter? You can. You’ll look at them and smile, no matter your wardrobe! Trust me.

You can make these DIY glitter shoes with canvas shoes like mine . . . or use heels, Vans, Converse, tennis shoes, flats, or any other kind of boot or shoe that floats your boat.

I’m about to show you a no-mess way to glitter on shoes that will allow you to add bling into your everyday life! You can make this craft at home with simple supplies.

Putting Glitter on Shoes

Before we dive into this fashion craft, I wanted to answer a few frequently asked questions. If you aren’t curious, simply scroll down to the bottom of the post for the how-to card.

What Mod Podge formula should I use?

Many crafters think you have to use Mod Podge Outdoor or Fabric for this project. You don’t. I mean you CAN use those, but I recommend Gloss. That’s because it’s shiny like the glitter. And I don’t plan doing any puddle stomping, so glitter is fine. See below for additional sealing advice (it’s one of the questions).

What type of paint should I use?

You’ll definitely want to use fabric paint. I used multisurface paint, but I would recommend going with fabric paint because it’s very flexible – even more so than multisurface. And with so much Mod Podge on the project, you’ll want as much flexibility as possible.

What type of glitter?

You can use all types of glitter! I like fine glitter. I purchased mine in the kids’ section of Michaels a long time ago. I’ve had it hanging around waiting for a project just like these glitter shoes.

Will Mod Podge dull the glitter?

Yes it will, a bit. But to me, it’s not bad – it’s still quite sparkly. The trade off to me would be loose glitter on the shoes. See the application methods below to understand a bit more about your options.

Blue sparkly shoes made using Mod Podge and glitter

How do I apply glitter to shoes?

There are two ways to apply glitter to shoes:

  1. Mix the glitter together with Mod Podge and then apply to the shoe
  2. Apply Mod Podge to the shoe and then sprinkle glitter on top

So I always opt for number one. Yes, it’s less sparkly. It’s also WAY less messy. If you use number two, you will have to seal as well, unless you want glitter everywhere. The glitter will continue to shed – basically forever – all over everything. But it’s up to you!

What should I seal glitter with?

If you mixed the glitter with Mod Podge, you shouldn’t need to seal. Are you planning on stomping in puddles? I wouldn’t recommend that. I mean you can seal the shoes, but you don’t need to.

Now if you applied Mod Podge to the shoe and then sprinkled glitter, I would definitely seal. Use a spray that is very clear and very high gloss.

Can I wash these shoes?

I don’t recommend it. And using Fabric Mod Podge won’t help you here either. I would just spot clean. If you submerge these in water, you could re-activate the Podge. Though if you try it . . . let me know in the comments.

Blue glitter shoes in front of an orange door

Gather These Supplies

  • Canvas shoes
  • Mod Podge Gloss
  • Fabric paint
  • Glitter
  • Mixing container
  • Paintbrushes – detail and medium
  • Painter’s tape
  • Spouncer
  • Craft knife

I started with inexpensive, canvas slip ons. If your shoes have a smooth surface, you can sand them slightly with sandpaper to rough up and help the Mod Podge adhere better.

When you paint the shoes, you don’t need two coats – just one worked for me. You’re just providing a base for the glitter.

Around the edges where you slip your feet in, I was very careful to not get paint inside the shoe. If you feel like this is a challenge, use painter’s tape for this portion as well.

When adding glitter and Mod Podge, it might help to paint the edges of the shoe near the sole with a detail brush. If any Mod Podge gets on the sole, wipe it away before it dries. Let the shoe dry and repeat with the second shoe.

I highly recommend letting your sparkly sneakers cure for 28 days before using. This is so they are fully dry all the way through, and they won’t get the weird creasing when you walk.

Sparkly shoes

Your glitter shoes are going to be a little stiff, but they will wear in well. Just keep in mind, it’s going to take a minute. I hope you wear them with pride!

Easy Fashion Crafts

I will fully admit I’m not the most fashionable person out there. I don’t think I’m un-fashionable – I just operate by the beat of my own drum. When it comes to everything, not just fashion!

My Pinterest bio says “I believe in stripes and polka dots. . . daily.” This is true. I should add plaid to that for sure. I love plaid and have a pretty big flannel collection. Like I said, I make my own rules! I encourage everyone to do that.

Sometimes part of making your own rules is decorating your own clothing. And making your own jewelry. And panting your shoes. And altering your denim. That’s what this collection of fashion crafts is all about.

I’ve pulled together 50 ideas for jewelry, clothing, hair accessories, shoes, purses, and more. These are my favorite ideas for making wearables your own.

Once you start your journey making and customizing your own wardrobe, I’m not sure you’re ever going to stop. Trust me on this.

You might be wondering which Mod Podge to use for the projects that require a decoupage medium. The rule to go by is, are you going to wash the item? If you’re attaching something to fabric and want to wash it, you’ll select Fabric Mod Podge.

Can you use Outdoor or Dishwasher Safe? No, stick with Fabric Mod Podge.

In terms of shoes, you can use regular Mod Podge (like Gloss) with waterproof sealer on top. Mod Podge isn’t waterproof, so in order to protect your creation, you’ll want to make sure to water seal especially if you intend to jump into puddles. Like adults do.

My last piece of advice – don’t use regular acrylic paint on clothing. Fabric paint is preferable, but multisurface paint is also acceptable. There is also a fabric medium you can add to regular craft paint.

Are you ready to dive into the fashion projects? Keep reading!

mod podge glitter shoes

Hey there, fashionistas and crafty souls! It’s Holly from Club Crafted, bringing you a glitzy solution to breathe new life into your beloved but worn-out footwear.

As a seasoned DIYer, I have a confession: I’m a bit of a hoarder when it comes to my wardrobe. Those old clothes and shoes?

They’re not just fabric and leather; they’re memories, right? And who knows, maybe they’ll come back in style or fit perfectly… someday.

Take, for instance, my beloved pair of blue flats. They’ve seen better days (or years), with toes that have partied a bit too hard and lost their shape and color.

But instead of bidding them a tearful goodbye, I decided it was time for a Cinderella moment – a dazzling transformation with Mod Podge and glitter!

Glittered flats with a bottle of Mod Podge

Introducing my Mod Podge glitter shoes, the DIY project that turned my not-so-glam flats into the belle of the ball.

The pointed toes of these flats were just begging for some love, and what says love better than glittery hearts? In just 15 minutes – yes, you read that right, 15 minutes – these shoes went from drab to fab.

Whether your shoes are faux suede like mine or another fabric type, this decoupage magic trick works wonders.

It’s a fun and easy craft, perfect for adults, teens, and tweens alike, especially if you’re looking to add a personal touch to your wardrobe without spending a fortune.

So, grab your Mod Podge, choose your glitter, and get ready to give your old shoes a heart-stopping makeover.

Let’s turn those worn-out flats into a fashion statement that’s sure to turn heads and spark conversations.

Tips and Thoughts for This Project

A combination of silver and turquoise was used in this project.

If you’re going to glitter on light or white shoes, I’d use fabric (or suede, or leather) paint in the same color as the glitter to outline the shape first. Otherwise the background shows through between glitter particles. You can see that in my DIY glitter shoes project.

Even though sealing the glitter with Mod Podge makes the pattern last, some glitter may fall off over time. Reapply glitter as needed to fill in any gaps.

Mod Podge shoes are a great way to revamp your wardrobe on a budget. Here are 20+ inspirational ideas – pick your favorite DIY decoupage shoes project and get crafty!

Don’t forget to scroll down to the bottom of the post to get a bonus video for adding a no sew cuff to boots with Mod Podge.

Skills Required: Advanced Beginner. I believe it’s probably best to have some experience with Mod Podge given that you’re going to have to work around the shape of shoes and seams.

Easy Mod Podge Shoes

You are going to laugh – I’ve only Mod Podged shoes a few times – once for my book, Mod Podge Rocks. BUT I have a pair of heels as we speak that are ready to be Podged.

There are so many reasons to Mod Podge shoes. You can customize them to fit your personality, you’re upcycling, AND it’s the perfect budget craft.

FAQ for Decoupage Shoes

Before we dig in, you might have some questions about decoupage shoes, and I’m more than happy to answer them.

What Can I Mod Podge on Shoes?

I’ve seen it all, my friends – napkins, fabric, paper. I’ll say that cotton or cotton blend fabrics work better than poly fabrics in my opinion. I’m also not a big fan of silk or felt because it discolors and gets a weird texture.

I always go for medium weight or thinner when Mod Podging shoes because you have to go around a lot of round edges.

You’ll see in the tutorials below that some people use very thin items, even napkins, to decoupage shoes.

If that’s the case, keep in mind that you might be able to see the background through the item when you Mod Podge it down (so you might want to paint your shoes white or use white shoes).

Mod Podge being applied to the front of a black shoe

Which Formula Do I Use?

If I had to choose one formula, it would be Fabric Mod Podge. It’s highly water resistant (just like Mod Podge Outdoor), and it’s made for bonding fabric to fabric, which is a likely scenario if you are going to decoupage shoes.

Outdoor Mod Podge is a close second, but it’s thicker and therefore harder to work with. Technically you can use the regular formulas (Gloss or Matte), but those aren’t made for exposure to water so you need to seal them very well.

How Do I Seal Them?

If you use Fabric Mod Podge you can leave them as-is. It might take awhile for them to fully cure and the tackiness to go away, especially depending on the climate you live in.

Therefore I’m a big fan of spraying or brushing on a clear acrylic sealer in the finish of your choice (Gloss, Satin, or Matte).

Minwax Polycrylic is a big favorite with a lot of people. You can really use anything – just make sure it’s clear, and acrylic.

I always do it because hey, there’s nothing wrong with making the shoes even more durable.

Can I Make them Waterproof?

To make them completely waterproof, you’ll need an additional sealer that is completely waterproof. Buy something from the hardware store like an engine enamel or something similar that is clear.

Mod Podge is highly water resistant but not waterproof; learn more here.

Are you ready to jump into the tutorials??

Some of these decoupage shoes are easier than others (go for glitter if you’re a newbie to Mod Podge) but all are amazing.

I can’t wait to Mod Podge my own shoes and share with you. In the meantime, enjoy these 20+ Mod Podge shoe projects!

Use silicone molds and hot glue to create your own DIY hair pins! Make them with the sayings and paint colors of your choice. SO easy.

Skills Required: Beginner. You need hot glue gun experience – which sounds silly, but getting hot glue into the tray can take a moment. However, it’s a relatively simple project that is easily achieved.

DIY hair pins

Hello, fashion crafters and DIY enthusiasts! Holly here from Club Crafted, ready to add a dash of pizzazz to your hairdo with something you probably never thought you’d stick in your hair – hot glue!

Yes, we’re turning this craft room staple into the trendiest hair accessory on the block with some DIY hair pins that are as sassy as they are simple.

Imagine turning heads with your very own custom, graphic hair pins, flaunting words that make a statement – without you having to say a word.

Whether you’re feeling ‘WOW,’ ‘BAE,’ or just a casual ‘HEY,’ these homemade hair pins are about to become your new go-to for adding a personal touch to your look.

How to make hair pins

I’ve been eyeing those chic hair pins with cute sayings everywhere, but why break the bank when you can DIY? That’s right, it’s time to unleash your inner fashionista and tailor-make these accessories to match your unique style.

With a sprinkle of hot glue magic and a handy alphabet mold, the world of words is at your fingertips… or should I say hair tips?

Why hot glue, you ask? Well, apart from the sheer thrill of turning something so ordinary into fashion gold, it’s all about that quick dry time.

No waiting around for resin, clay, or cement to set – we’re all about instant gratification here!

So, grab your bobby pins, pick your favorite short and sweet words, and let’s get to some cute painting.

Silicone mold, paint, paintbrush, glue gun, glue stick, and bobby pins

Whether you’re jazzing up your everyday look, adding flair to a special occasion, or simply want to wear your mood in your hair, these DIY hair pins are your ticket to effortless style.

Follow along as I show you how to make the coolest hair accessories you never knew you needed. Let’s do this!

Gather These Supplies

  • Hot glue sticks – I used white but you can also use clear (or another color)
  • Hot glue gun
  • Silicone alphabet mold (letters about .5 inches tall)
  • Bobby pins
  • Craft paint
  • Small paintbrushes
  • E-6000

Tips and Thoughts for This Project

You can do this on hair clips too as well as bobby pins. This might even be fun to do with a headband! Think of how long you could get the words. 😮

For an average sized bobby pin, you should limit words to three letters, but this DIY could also work with large clips/pins. Then you’d be able to add more letters.

Skip the painting step by using colorful glue sticks.

Carefully insert the DIY hair pins in your hair (beware, the glue can potentially pull at your hair!) and have fun with your unique sayings!

Learn how to cover shoes in fabric with Mod Podge and leftover scraps! This is an easy fashion project for adults and beginning crafters.

Cover Shoes in Fabric with Mod Podge!

We’ve done a lot of projects here on the blog, but sometimes I realize that we have some “holes” so to speak. There are so many Mod Podge projects that one could do in a lifetime . . . and I don’t want to miss any!

We’ve added confetti to footwear as well as made DIY glitter shoes. But in all my fashion crafting, I’ve never covered shoes in fabric!

Can you believe it?

Me either. We’re about to remedy that today with this fancy and fashionable tutorial. If you’ve always wanted to re-do a pair of kicks, this is for you.

DIY Fabric Covered Shoes

Before you begin, here are some FAQs that apply to Mod Podge shoes. You can learn from my mistakes! Simply check out the questions and answers below, or if you scroll down to the bottom you can get the tutorial. But I promise, these are valuable.

What type of fabric do I need to cover shoes?

I find that the best fabric is a medium weight (or lighter) cotton. If the fabric is too thick, it will be difficult to bend around the curves. If it’s too lightweight, you might end up being able to see through it (Mod Podge can make fabric somewhat transparent).

A navy blue shoe and a fabric that is too lightweight means that you will likely see the navy blue through the fabric. You can do a small test on the back of the shoe if you want to see what will happen.

Cut a tiny square of the fabric and Mod Podge it down. See if it looks like the dark color is showing through. You can remove the square before it dries

If the color was showing through, you’re going to want to either 1) basecoat the kicks with a white and/or flexible fabric paint or choose a thicker fabric.

Decorate shoes with fabric

How do I prep my footwear?

Just make sure that they are clean and dry. If your shoes are a different material than canvas or fabric, you might find that you need to use sandpaper to scuff up the surface. This is typically true for footwear that is faux leather.

If the shoe is dark and I want to use a light fabric, I will paint the shoes with a white fabric paint to basecoat. THEN I will cover the shoes in fabric with the tutorial below.

What Mod Podge formula should I use?

There are a few options here. In a perfect world you would use Fabric Mod Podge (made for attaching fabric to fabric) and a finishing sealer on top to make them super-duper durable.

But you can also use Gloss or Matte for your shoes (some people can’t find Fabric Mod Podge). In that case I would definitely use a sealer – see below. You want to make them as tough as if you had used the Fabric formula.

Do I need to seal my shoes?

It depends on how rough you are going to be on them. Mod Podge is a sealer, but if you are going to be dancing through rain puddles, you might want something additional (Mod Podge is not completely waterproof).

You can head to the craft store for something like this Minwax or similar to seal the shoes. You can use a spread or brush on sealer. A polycrylic or crystal clear sealer will make the shoes mostly waterproof. I would still hand wash them.

Are you ready to learn how to cover shoes in fabric? Check out the tutorial below.

Gather These Supplies

  • Sneakers
  • Fabric quarter or scraps
  • Fabric Mod Podge
  • Flat brush
  • Suede cord
  • Scissors
  • Box knife
  • Super glue for fabric or jewelry
  • Tape measure

Before beginning, make sure that your fabric is washed and dried so sizing is removed. Also make sure your shoes are clean and dry.

Measure and Cut Fabric

Measure the fabric to fit the area you want to cover, with some overlap. Cut the excess to make it easier to stick to your shoes (and so you aren’t working with huge pieces of fabric). Do this for both shoes.

Square of fabric laying over the top of the shoe

Mod Podge Down the Fabric

Spread a medium layer of Fabric Mod Podge onto the area you want to cover using a flat brush. Make sure to get the smaller areas and work a little bit fast. Mod Podge can dry quickly.

Try to be somewhat neat as the medium will dry on the shoe if it gets in other areas – and you’ll be able to see it. So only do the part you want to cover in fabric.

Mod Podge being applied to the front of a black shoe

Cover the Mod Podged area with the fabric, making sure it covers the whole area. If you see there are some areas where the fabric didn’t stick, add more medium and smooth down.

You can also wipe away any medium that squeezed out onto the rubber bumper area. Repeat with the other shoe and wait for it to dry.

Fabric smoothed onto the top of a shoe

Trim Fabric and Add Cord

Once dry, use scissors and a box knife or craft knife to cut the excess fabric away. Be careful and work slowly. If you use a light touch you will not puncture the shoe and will just get the fabric.

Trimming the fabric around the edge of teh shoe with a razor blade

Finally, trim the edges with suede cord in the same color as your shoe to have a clean edge. You can use a super glue made just for wearables . . . you want to make sure it’s good for fabric and has a small applicator tip.

Fabric trimmed with suede trim

Let dry completely and you are done!

This is easily customizable with different shoe colors and different fabric prints! What would you create?

Make DIY patchwork jeans using fabric and Mod Podge! Grab some pretty fabrics and paint and an old pair of denim for this fashion project.

Skills Required: None. Even if you’ve never crafted before, you can decorate denim using this method. Since it’s no sew, you don’t need any technical skills to complete it. There’s also a video in the post to show you how it’s done.

DIY Patchwork Jeans

You’re going to laugh, but I have a vice. A vice that, in my twenties, I never imagined I’d have. I love purging, cleaning out closets and drawers, and generally getting rid of stuff. Yep! It’s almost an addiction if I’m being honest.

Okay, maybe “addiction” is extreme.

But to me, there is nothing like the feeling of dropping off a bunch of stuff at the Goodwill. I just feel lighter when I drive away, both mentally and physically. Have you ever experienced anything similar or am I just crazy?

I can’t be the only one.

There is a bit of a process to deciding what stays and what goes before a donation trip. Because the thing is, I like recycled crafts. If something can become a craft surface out of the pile, I’m in. I love repurposing items!

Which – finally – brings me to this fashion craft: DIY patchwork jeans.

diy patchwork denim

Patchwork Denim

You can make your own patchwork denim in three easy steps! You’re going to cut the patches, then Mod Podge them to the denim. Then you’ll add fabric paint as an accent. This step is optional but it’s a nice touch!

You’ll find that you can do this on any kind of denim: jeans, a jacket, purses, a hat . . . anything you like. This method works for all type of denim.

The only jeans you might want to avoid are the really stretchy jeggings. This is essentially a patch that won’t stretch when Mod Podged (there’s a little give, but not much). That means the jeans will stretch a lot and the patch won’t at all, which could be weird. It’s up to you!

Mod Podge Formula to Use

For this project, you’ll want to use Fabric Mod Podge. This formula is made to attach fabric to fabric and allow it to be washable. This formula is stronger than regular Mod Podge.

Fabric to Use

I recommend using a cotton or cotton blend for your DIY patchwork jeans. You can even cut up other denim to make the patches! Keep in mind that Mod Podge tends to darken fabric slightly.

You also won’t want to use anything too sheer or textured: felt, fleece, tulle, nylon, or anything similar to this is not a good choice. It just doesn’t stick well with a decoupage medium.

Are you ready to learn how to make these patchwork jeans? Check out the instructions below and take a peek at the video for a visual.

Gather These Supplies

  • Jeans – prewashed, dry without fabric softener
  • Mod Podge Fabric
  • Fabric – 1/4 yard coordinating
  • Fabric paint – black
  • Scissors
  • Pencil
  • Wax paper or silicone mat
  • Paintbrushes

To begin, wash both the jeans and scrap fabric (or denim, etc). You’ll want to dry but not use fabric softener. It can put chemicals into the denim that keeps acrylic product from sticking depending on the type.

Cut the Patches

Figure out how you are going to organize the fabric onto the jeans. You can cut the fabric into shapes (heart, stars, or just squares). Or cut out a graphic! Trace the fabric lightly with the pencil on the back of the fabric to make your shapes.

Cut around the pattern you just drew, leaving a 1/2″ extra border around the edge. If there is a specific graphic in the fabric that you are cutting, just leave a border around the design.

Loosely cut around the design or pencil lines, remembering your 1/2″ border.

Apply the Patches

Place the fabric patches onto wax paper and apply a thin coat of Fabric Mod Podge around the edges only. You’re going to go about 1″ all the way around, over the pattern lines. Let dry and cut out.

Apply a thin coat of Mod Podge to back of fabric and smooth onto your jeans. If it is over a hole, you might want to stick some wax paper into the pant leg so that it doesn’t stick to the back. Let dry.

Note: Feel free to layer fabrics! Let dry completely (overnight).

Paint the Patchwork

Using a small liner brush to accent the fabric patches with stitch marks. You can also add stems and leaves as shown in the finished photo. Let dry.

Heat set with a warm iron (or whatever the instructions are on your fabric paint bottle).

Once your DIY patchwork jeans are done, you can wear them! Well, when they are dry. When you wash them, I advise you to turn them inside out and do cold water. This is just so your creation lasts as long as possible!

I’m not nearly done with the glitter projects – I just can’t help it. There are too many amazing projects to feature. Yesterday it was a glitter clutch I was looking at and contemplating trying, but did you know that you can do it to fabric as well?

Stars for Streetlights recently featured a tutorial on how to glitter a shirt with pretty gold accents, and it looks designer . . . I can’t believe this fashion craft was done with Mod Podge. So of course I had to share! Are you interested in how to glitter a shirt of your very own? Go here.

PS – You will not be able to wash a shirt like this if you use regular Mod Podge, but you can hand wash or delicate cycle if you use Fabric Mod Podge.

Dry Time 1 hour
Total Time 1 hour 55 minutes
Servings 1 shirt
Cost $1

Equipment

  • Paintbrush or spouncers
  • Container for mixing
  • Iron

Instructions

  • Lay out your shirt and make sure the collar is flat. If your shirt needs ironing, do it at this time so there are no folds.
  • Mix the glitter with Mod Podge in a small dish. I would say a good ratio is 1:1.
  • Tape off the portion you are going to be Mod Podging and start applying your mixture. Let the first layer dry and then apply more in areas that aren’t covered.
  • Repeat until the desired areas are covered and let dry completely before wearing.

Notes

The project is machine washable in cold water on the gentle cycle or by hand after 72 hours, and line dry.

DIY Confetti Dipped Shoes

Hey guys – Jessica here from The Confetti Bar, the coolest confetti shop on the block, where we believe happiness should be celebrated!

Since it’s my mission in life to confetti #allthethings, I’m so excited to be sharing this super colorful, super fun (and super easy!) DIY confetti project with you. After all, what better way to use confetti than wear it? 😉 Imagine sporting this cool party craft at your next celebration.

Everyone will be wondering where you got your shoes. Trust me on this one.

Bowl of confetti, white shoes, Mod Podge Fabric, and a foam brush

DIY Confetti Shoes

Supplies:

  • A pair of plain white shoes (or feel free to get crazy here and use any shoes you’d like!)
  • Confetti!
  • Sponge brush
  • Fabric Mod Podge

You’ll want to start by painting a decent layer of Fabric Mod Podge on all the areas you want to confetti-fy your shoes. The thicker the layer of Mod Podge, the better your confetti will stick in there.

Colorful confetti pressed onto the toe of a white shoe

Once you cover a section in Mod Podge, press some confetti onto the area. Gently tap off the excess. Once your first coat of confetti is complete, let dry for a couple of hours, or until the Mod Podge has set.

Go in for a second coat by adding another layer of Mod Podge and pressing more confetti onto the shoe.
